Steven F. Mayer is a Senior Managing Director, Co-Head of Global Private Equity and Chairman of the Investment Committee at private investment firm Cerberus Capital Management, which primarily invests in companies with the potential for significant business improvement.
Prior to joining Cerberus in 2002, Mayer served as executive managing director at Gores Technology Group, a private equity investment firm. Before that, Mayer served in managing director positions at Libra Capital Partners, L.P. and its affiliates, where he co-headed the Corporate Finance division of affiliated firm U.S. Bancorp. Prior to joining Libra, Mr. Mayer was a managing director of Aries Capital Group, LLC, a private equity investment firm that he co-founded, and was a principal with Apollo Advisors, L.P. and Lion Advisors, L.P., affiliated private equity investment firms. Prior to that time, Mr. Mayer was an attorney with Sullivan & Cromwell.
Mr. Mayer has served on numerous Boards of Directors of public and private companies across a broad range of industries. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Avon Products Inc., BlueLinx Holdings Inc., Grifols S.A., Starrus Holdings Limited, and YP Holdings LLC, and on the Board of Managers of New Avon LLC.
Mr. Mayer is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
John Buchta is currently the Treasurer of Staples, leading and managing all aspects of Global Treasury and Risk Management. He is also Senior Vice President of Tax, responsible for all Global Tax functions and has been since joining Staples.
Prior to joining Staples in 2011, John was a Partner at Ernst & Young serving in International Tax Services from 1997 to 2010. He has extensive experience in tax planning for US multinational corporations, including effective tax rate planning, accounting for income taxes, buyer-side and seller-side structuring of transactions, tax efficient structuring of international expansions and joint ventures, foreign acquisition due diligence, negotiating with tax authorities, designing efficient transfer pricing policies and repatriation planning.
Mr. Buchta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Miami University, Oxford Ohio, United States.
Chan Galbato is Chief Executive Officer of Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, LLC. He serves as Chairman of Avon Products, Inc., Director of New Avon LLC, Director of Blue Bird Corporation and Director of DynCorp International and as a Director of Steward Health Care, LLC. Previously, Mr. Galbato served as a Director of the publicly-traded Brady Corporation for seven years, including as Lead Director. He also served as Chairman to North American Bus Industries, Inc., Guilford Mills and YP Holdings LLC until their sales in 2013, 2012 and 2017 respectively, and as Director of Tower International, Inc. until Cerberus’ exit in 2014.
Prior to joining Cerberus, Mr. Galbato was President and CEO of the Controls Group of businesses for Invensys plc and President of Services and of the commercial distribution arm of companies for The Home Depot.
Mr. Galbato also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Armstrong Floor products and Chief Executive Officer of Choice Parts, a joint-venture start-up. He spent 14 years with General Electric Company, holding several operating and GE Finance leadership positions within their various industrial divisions (including Transportation (Locomotive) Systems, Aircraft Engines, Medical Systems and Appliances), as well as holding the role of President and CEO, Coregis, a G.E. Capital company. Before beginning his business career he played professional baseball with the Montreal Expos in their minor league system.
Mr. Galbato holds a Master degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the State University of New York.
Peter Ventress has over twenty years of senior general management experience primarily in B2B service industries, including distribution, manufacturing and retail. Most recently, he was CEO of Berendsen plc, a business specializing in outsourcing of textile rental products.
Previously, he was International President at Staples, Inc., responsible for the company’s business outside the USA, including Europe, Australia, China, India and South America. Mr. Ventress was also previously CEO of Corporate Express NV, which was acquired by Staples, Inc. in 2008.
Mr. Ventress serves as Chairman of Galliford Try plc and as Director of BBA Aviation plc and Softcat plc. He also has roles in education as a Foundation Director of a multi-academy schools trust in Kent and as a member of the Audit Committee of the University of Kent.
Mr. Ventress is a graduate of Oxford University and the Open University in the United Kingdom.
Stassi Anastassov is a Senior Advisor at CDH Investments, one of the largest alternative asset management institutions focused on China, and TSR Limited.
Mr. Anastassov also serves on the board of the Better Shelter company - a company linked to the IKEA foundation whose mission is to provide refugees with dignified housing solutions.
Previously, Mr. Anastassov spent almost 30 years at The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G), holding various roles throughout Europe, the United States and the Middle East and Africa. Most recently Mr. Anastassov was the Global President and CEO of Duracell (a division of P&G), where he led a major turnaround of the brand ahead of its eventual sale to Berkshire Hathaway.
Mr. Anastassov has previously also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Nanping Nanfu Battery Co., the largest Chinese Alkaline Battery manufacturer, and the Duracell PowerMat joint venture.
Mr. Anastassov is a graduate of Uppsala University, Sweden.
